Privacy Policy

MarQuest ("MarQuest", "we", "us") operates the website at marquest.in, an all-in-one learning platform for aspiring marketers — daily quizzes, placement preparation, events, jobs and news. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. By using MarQuest you agree to this policy.

Information we collect

Account information (via Google). When you sign in with Google, we receive your name, email address and profile picture from your Google account. We do not receive or store your Google password.

Profile information you provide. During onboarding you may provide your name and, optionally, your institution or company. Students of the Great Lakes Institute of Management (GLIM) may optionally link their official roster record, which associates your batch, roll number and contact number with your account.

Activity information. As you use MarQuest we store activity such as quiz attempts and scores, points and streaks, saved jobs and application tracking, event registrations, certificates, and content you bookmark.

Technical information. We use a session cookie to keep you signed in. We may log basic technical data (such as IP address and request information) for security and to operate the service.

How we use your information

We use your information to provide and personalise the platform — authenticate you, run quizzes and leaderboards, manage event registrations and certificates, surface relevant jobs and news, and keep the service secure. We may send you service-related emails (such as event confirmations) and, only if you opt in, the weekly newsletter and job alerts. You can opt out at any time.

How we share information

We do not sell your personal information. We share data only with service providers that help us run MarQuest, and only as needed:

• Google — for sign-in (OAuth).
• MongoDB Atlas — to store your account and activity data.
• Amazon Web Services (S3) — to store files such as certificates and uploaded media.
• Anthropic — to generate quiz questions and editorial content. We do not send your personal information to this service.
• Email provider — to deliver service emails and opt-in newsletters.

We may also disclose information if required by law or to protect the rights and safety of our users.

Data retention

We keep your information for as long as your account is active. You may request deletion of your account and associated personal data at any time (see Contact). Some records may be retained where required for legitimate or legal purposes.

Your rights and choices

You can review and update your profile in your account settings, opt out of marketing emails, and request access to or deletion of your personal data by contacting us. You can also revoke MarQuest's access to your Google account from your Google security settings.

Children's privacy

MarQuest is intended for users aged 16 and above. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 16.

Security

We use industry-standard measures to protect your data, including encrypted transport (HTTPS) and access controls. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we work to protect your information.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. We will update the "last updated" date above and, for material changes, provide a notice within the app.
